one bird can herald a spring,
one smile can bring a friendship,
one handclasp can lift a soul,
one star can guide a ship at sea,

one sunbeam can light a room,
one candle can wipe out darkness,
one laugh can conquer gloom,
one step can start a journey,

With love to you... wherever you are.
My heart doth send to thee.
Rivers wide and mountains tall
Separate you from me.

Looking at pictures of you and I
Seems to bring you close.
But hearing our song being played
Brings you near the most.

I remember us dancing to that tune,
Under the shade of a tree.
That day in the park together,
Our spirits running wild and free.

Whenever I feel gloomy,
I think of you and can't help but smile.
Though it doesn't last forever,
At least it lasts for a while.

Your Love, Your Cup of Hot Chocolate

n.b. not my poem. read it a long time ago. but to date i love it.

Give me thy love,
thy cup of hot chocolate.

For when I drink of you,
my soul is overtaken with your warmth.

When the world outside is cold,
I sip of you and the cold is turned back,
allowing your warmth to enter my body.

Sometimes the hot chocolate burns,
too hot to hold and too scorching to drink.

When I let you cool you become safe to swallow,
so I sip again of your warmth and it fills me inside.

I never let a day go by without my hot chocolate.
